Coimbatore: Residents of GKR Nagar, Chinniyampalayam, Kalapatti, Neelambur, and areas that come under the Irugur Town Panchayat staged a protest here on Tuesday against the move to survey their houses and other buildings.
Vijay Vicraman, a resident, said that they opposed the move to survey buildings because a case was pending before the court regarding compensation.
Mr. Vijay said that the officials had fixed Rs. 100 a sq ft. They will not be able to buy land with the compensation amount anywhere in the vicinity.
