Plane search widens

New Delhi: A specialised Russian ship joined the search for the Indian Air Force AN-32 plane that is missing for 11 days since taking off from Chennai with 29 people on July 22.

Two more specialised ships - ocean research vessel Samudra Ratnakar of the Geological Survey of India and National Institute of Ocean Technology vessel Sagar Nidhi have also been requisitioned. Specialists of the navy and the coast guard will embark the ships at Chennai before heading to the search area.

Even with the new and sophisticated equipment The search for the Antonov-32 aircraft has yielded nothing so far.

The Russian vessel that will join the search was transiting through the area on its way to Visakhapatnam.
