If everything goes as per the plan, people can enjoy the aerial view of the heritage city by helicopters at affordable price during the upcoming Dasara. The district administration and the Dasara Festival Committee are mulling over introducing helicopter rides during the Nada Habba.

The authorities have plans to introduce two helicopters and have approached two private aviation companies. According to sources, as private operators will take the total responsibility of rides, cost per ride will be finalised after discussions. The district administration will make all the necessary arrangements for rides.

In addition, the government will organise rides at reduced fare for the benefit of visitors to the city during Dasara to promote tourism. According to authorities concerned, the rides will be organised similar to those offered during Hampi Utsav. The show in Hampi was organised in association with a Delhi-based private partner.

As per the plan, the 10-minute ride will commence from Lalith Mahal helipad?in the city and the copter will fly over major spots of tourist interest in the city before landing. Additional Deputy Commissioner T?Venkatesh said that a final decision on the proposal will be arrived at on Thursday
