DGCA finds liquor stash in private jet at Delhi airport

Carrying liquor bottles is proving to be far more dangerous than having demonetised notes onboard for private plane operators. Sources said Directorate General of Civil Aviation recovered a "large" quantity of liquor bottles from the private plane of a leading Indian corporate house.
The regulator made this discovery while conducting surprise checks at Delhi airport earlier this week. The Pune-based company's luxury aircraft had flown into Delhi from its headquarters. Sources say almost 50 bottles were found.
Since the plane had flown on a domestic sector (Pune-Delhi) where consumption or serving of liquor is banned, the regulator is now contemplating strict action against the company which is into several fields like automotive, power, oil, construction and mining.
