The Goa State Human Rights Commission (GHRC) on Tuesday directed the chief secretary and director general of police to immediately provide portable drinking water to the police personnel working at Goa International Airport police station, Dabolim.
When the matter came up for hearing on Tuesday, the complainant, social activist Aires Rodrigues, told the commission that over 20 policemen contribute and buy drinking water while on duty.
The complaint was filed in October, wherein Rodrigues stated in detail how the authorities have neglected the basic needs of its personnel who normally have to work for long hours.
