Mumbai: The Sahar police arrested a 19-year-old commerce student reportedly for assaulting a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) official when asked for her identity proof to enter the airport.
The teenager, who was scheduled to take an early morning flight on Sunday, slapped a CISF official who didn't allow her to enter the T2 terminal based on the soft copy of her Aadhar card on her mobile and instead sought a hard copy as ID proof.
The incident occurred between 5am and 8am when the girl was to take a flight to Bhopal to attend a marriage in her family . "The teenager forced her way into the T2 airport premises after a scuffle with a female CISF official. She claimed she got late and forgot to take her identity card. She thought just like passengers can carry e-tickets, she will be allowed to enter with the ID proof on her mobile," said an official from Sahar police station.
Seeing the teenager fighting with the official, other CISF personnel rushed and took her to the CISF cabin. The complaint said, "The teenager was very rude and abused the female official who was checking the ID proofs of passengers entering T2. The teenager slapped the woman when she was not allowed to enter. She was detained and the police was called."
