A staffer working at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in New Delhi has been arrested for allegedly stealing USD 400 from the wallet of a flier during security scanning on Monday.
Officials said the incident was reported around 11:00 am when the Dubai-bound flier, identified as R Anand, complained to CISF officials that cash of USD 400 (over Rs 27,000) was missing from his wallet when he collected it after security checks done at terminal-III before boarding.
The CISF officials went through the CCTV footage of the security-hold area and detected that the staffer, identified as Asif Khan working as loader, stole the money from the wallet when it was kept in the tray.
