Foundation stone for civil terminal at Agra airport to be laid in Dec

Agra: The UP government has decided to lay the foundation stone for the civil terminal at Agra airport in December this year. It has already provided a total of Rs 153.67 crore to the district administration for acquisition of 23.32 hectare of land for the purpose. Now, the latter has been directed to submit report on the land acquirement process to the UP civil aviation department on a weekly basis.
Moreover, the Airport Authority of India has been asked to take possession of the already acquired land and start the next process on it immediately. Of the 23.32 hectare of land needed, so far 16.38 hectare has been acquired.
Earlier, the foundation stone-laying ceremony was scheduled for October but given the slow pace of land acquisition work, it has been postponed to December.
Nagendra Sharma, additional district magistrate (land acquisition) said the entire land acquisition process was likely be completed by October 20.
