Fake Video Claiming Bengaluru Airport Was Flooded, Is From Mexico

A 28-second video showing a flooded tarmac of an airport has been doing rounds on social media, especially in Bengaluru. The video was said to be taken at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) following torrential rains.

Bengaluru International Airport Limited, which operates KIA, has categorically said that no flooding has been reported at the airport. A further scrutiny has also revealed that the video was, in fact, taken at an airport in Mexico.
The two videos claiming the same have not been deleted from YouTube yet. The videos were uploaded on October 7 and October 15 by Amazing Original Videos and Ashok Kumar.
Although both videos received very limited views, it was downloaded and circulated on social media, especially WhatsApp and Facebook.
“A video is being circulated showing an airport apron and runway flooded, which claims to be the BLR Airport. Please note the video is not of the BLR Airport. Operations continue to be normal at our Airport (sic),” the KIA advisory stated.
Interestingly, one of the users pointed out on the YouTube videos comment section that “there are no A380 jumbo planes to Bengaluru as shown in the video...which is enough to prove it's a fake video (sic).”
