MADC examines ad route to popularize Shirdi facility

Pune: The Maharashtra Airport Development Company Limited (MADC) has decided to coordinate with the tourism department to popularize the recently inaugurated Saibaba International Airport, Shirdi, among flyers.
Though Air India subsidiary Alliance Air is operating two flights from the airport, MADC officials said the response was not encouraging and there should be proper advertisements to promote the facility.
"The airport has a lot of facilities for the passengers. For example, counters have been opened for the flyers to collect passes for a visit to the Saibaba temple. The airport has a cloak room where they can keep their baggage as well," MADC vice-chariman-cum-managing director Suresh Kakani said.
"We have tied up with the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) to ensure AC buses at reasonable rates for the passengers to travel between the airport and the Saibaba temple. The departure area has a counter from where the visitors can get 'prasad' following their visit to the temple," he told TOI.
