Three cartridge cases found in luggage of two passengers

Mumbai: In separate cases, two passengers were found carrying empty cartridges in their bags at the citys domestic airport here today, officials said.
In the first incident, one passenger travelling to New Delhi by GoAir flight was found carrying two bullet shells in his bags. In the second incident, a Mangalore-bound passenger, travelling by SpiceJet, was found in possession of one empty cartridge, a senior CISF official said.
"The empty cartridges were detected during screening of their luggage at the airport," he said.
"The cartridges detected were not live and cannot be fired. But since they are a part of ammunition, they cannot be carried on board," the official said.
