HC to hear airport case in Jan

In the matter related to praying development of Dumna Airport, Advocate Anoop Nair, counsel appearing for the Airport Authority of India (AAI) stated before the court that the matter of grant of contract for the construction of the airport building is pending final consideration with the Airport Authority, which is likely to be finalised soon. A division bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court comprising Chief Justice, Hemant Gupta and Justice, Vijay Kumar Shukla has listed the matter for hearing on January 15, 2018.

During the hearing, Advocate Rakesh Tiwari, counsel appearing for MPPKVV Co. Ltd. stated that underground cabling of electric wires shall be completed within one month. Advocate, Anshuman Singh, counsel appearing for the Corporation, stated that the completion of road will take another two months time. The division bench has listed the matter for hearing on January 15, 2018. Hearing on September 4, 2017, the division bench had issued notice to the Madhya Pradesh Poorva Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company Limited.

Advocate Anoop Nair, counsel for the airport, stated that the work of laying under-ground cables is likely to be completed in another 45 days. He also stated that the work of appointing consultant for designing building shall be completed during this month. Earlier, the Advocate Anoop Nair had pointed out before the court that the Airport Authority of India has deposited the amount with Electricity Distribution Company, whereas the financial bid for appointing Consultant for designing the airport building shall be opened within this month and the tender process is likely to be completed in the month of September, 2017.
