CIAL to help Ghana airports set up solar plants

Kochi: Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) will offer technical help to three airports in Ghana for establishing solar plants.

According to a CIAL statement, the decision was taken at a meeting of the Board of Directors of the company here on Saturday.

The airport operator has also contributed Rs. 5 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the victims of Cyclone Ockhi. A cheque for the amount was handed over to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan by Minister for Agriculture V.S. Sunil Kumar.
The Board of Directors of CIAL also decided to allot Rs. 4.41 crore to speed up the works on the inland waterways in the State, which is being developed jointly by CIAL and the State government.
The money will be handed over to Kerala Waterways and Infrastructures Limited, a joint venture between CIAL and the State government.
