3 aerobridges commissioned at Dabolim airport

Vasco: South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar on Monday said that the BJP government at the centre has introduced the Udan regional connectivity scheme (RCS) with an aim to make air travel affordable and to boost national economic development, job growth and air transport infrastructure development of all regions in the country.

Sawaikar was speaking after commissioning the state-of-the-art three new aerobridges (Passenger Boarding Bridges) at the integrated terminal building of Dabolim airport in the presence of Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho, district collector South Anjali Sehrawat, airport director Bhupesh Chand Hans Negi, members of the airport advisory committee Chandrakant Gawas, Savio Messias and Gaurish Dhond.

Sawaikar congratulated the Airports Authority of India and the airport director Negi for having taken the initiative in installing as well as commissioning three additional aerobridges.
Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho said that the central government has taken up many initiatives to improve the quality and expansion of airport facilities. He assured the Airports Authority of India that the state government would resolve all issues in and around Dabolim airport.

Airport director Negi said, “The aim of the aerobridges was to promote the Make in India initiative of the Government of India”. The contract was awarded to M/s Adelte Airport Technologies, an engineering company based at Barcelona Spain. Some components of these aerobridges like telescopic tunnel, rotunda column and service staircase are manufactured in India by Bharat Earth Mover Limited Bengaluru. He said that AAI is continuously striving to add new facilities and improve existing facilities at Dabolim airport.
