Chennai: Customs officials at Chennai airport seized crude gold bangles and a crude gold chain -- worth a total of around Rs 39 lakh -- from two passengers who arrived here from Dubai in a flydubai flight on Friday.
Customs officials intercepted a woman and seized crude gold bangles worth around Rs 24 lakh from her. The woman, identified as Sneha Rajkumar, had concealed the bangles weighing 780 grams beneath her top.
They also intercepted Kamal Jeet Singh. He had concealed a crude gold chain -- worth around Rs 15 lakh-- beneath his shirt sleeve.
