Srinagar Airport to have additional scanners from February

Srinagar: Srinagar International Airport is all set to have three additional X-ray scanners at its entrance from the first week of February.
Talking to The Kashmir Monitor, Director Srinagar International Airport, Sharad Kumar, said the scanners would help the visitors to screen their belongings in a short time.
“These machines are the latest. They will screen everything from big size packages to odd-shaped items,” Kumar said.
Kumar said, with the addition, the airport would have a total of six machines at the entrance.
He said the installation of the machines has been undertaken to give respite to the visitors, especially passengers.
“The visitors will not have to wait for a long time. The machines will bring down the traffic congestion witnessed during peak hours,” he said.
In addition, Kumar said the one entry lane would be made operational.
