Gadkari opens first orange selling outlet at Nagpur airport

With a view to take oranges directly to the international customers and open an opportunity for the fruit of the region to enter into the global market, Maha Orange, a growers’ association has started first orange selling outlet at Nagpur’s Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport. Union Minister for Surface Transport Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the outlet on Sunday.

This is for the first time that the orange growers are getting facilities at airport where they could have direct connect with foreign tourists and other passengers. This will also help in exporting the oranges to Dubai and other Arab countries. Nagpur is known for the oranges but no efforts were taken to take oranges to provide it an international market right in city.
Maha Orange is trying its best to avail global market to the oranges. Gadkari suggested to Maha Orange to provide oranges in attractive packs. Though Nagpur’s oranges were good in quality, the market was not available to them. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Gadkari had approved the orange export facility centre at Karanja-Ghadge.
Accordingly the oranges were exported to the countries like Dubai, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh etc.
Shridhar Thakre, Director of Maha Orange informed the audience about Maha Orange selling outlet. This outlet will not only have good quality oranges but orange juice, orange candy etc will also be made available.
