Bengaluru: The Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) now has a crew-only terminal dedicated for airline staff. The aim is to de-congest the main terminal, apart from ensuring that crew have easy access to the airport.
Bangalore International Airport Ltd., the operator of KIA, said that airline crew will no longer have to encounter queues at security check points in the main terminal. The facility will be operational round the clock.
On an average, 400 crew members depart through the new facility daily. The number is expected to cross 600 in the coming days. Currently, the terminal will only cater to domestic departing crew. Crew for international flights will continue to use the main terminal for their mandatory immigration and regulatory formalities.
