Nashik: Private airline operator Jet Airways on Thursday said that it was open to the idea of increasing the frequency of flights between Nashik and Delhi from the present thrice a week to daily flights provided the response from fliers is good.
At a meeting with Nashik industrial fraternity and travel agents, the company also said it would connect Nashik with other metro cities through hopping flights if there was good demand.
Jet officials said the objective was to bring Nashik on global air map. Students flying to international destinations will be allowed to carry luggage up to 69 kg, they added. Presently, each passenger will be allowed only 22kg luggage with him.
Jet Airways will be launching Delhi-Nashik flights from June 15.
The official said fliers who are planning to catch international flights from Delhi will get direct tickets from here. Moreover, the Nashik-Delhi flight will connect other domestic destinations like Kochi, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Raipur, Bhopal and Ahmedabad.
Mangesh Patankar, president of Nashik Industries & Manufacturers’ Association, assured the private airline to provide every support to make the flight sustainable.
