IAF personnel told to be safety-conscious

Chennai: Indian Air Force personnel must inculcate a high degree of safety consciousness and professionalism, said Air Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Air Command.

He was speaking at Aerospace Safety Council meeting at Air Force Station, Sulur, yesterday. He urged everyone to work proactively towards reduction of incidents, identify potential areas that can lead to accidents and take preventive measures in time.

Director General (Inspections and Safety) Air Marshal S Harpal Singh exhorted all personnel to be extra vigilant in all flying operations and work towards reducing accidents.

The meeting was a forum for exchange of information, ideas to enhance flight safety, progress in safety initiatives of various aircraft fleets, results of recent accident investigations, maintenance policies and procurement of new safety equipment.
