Ill-fated aircraft was safe to fly claims maintenance company

New Delhi: The aviation maintenance company that was maintaining the ill-fated aircraft that crashed in Ghatkopar on Thursday believed that the aircraft was safe to fly. India Today exclusively spoke to the Managing Director of Indamer Aviation, Rajiv Gupta whose company was maintaining the aircraft owned by UY Aviation.

Speaking to India Today, Gupta said, "We had conducted all the maintenance. The pilots did the ground run at the Juhu Airport and all the parameters of the aircraft were normal. It was airworthy and the prey applications were made by UY Aviation."

"We believed that the aircraft was airworthy and the application was received by us for the test flight. The aviation company told us to conduct the test flight. The girl who did it, Surabhi, also believes that the aircraft was airworthy."

Surabhi was the aircraft maintenance engineer who was present in the aircraft when it crashed killing her and three others.

Gupta said that after maintenance the aircraft had been given to the aviation company for a test flight when it crashed. The aircraft was handed over to UY Aviation who then sought permission from DGCA to conduct test flight.
