Pouch with Rs 68,000 & valuables restored to the rightful owner at Delhi airport

New Delhi: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Wednesday restored a pouch containing Rs 68 thousand to the rightful owner at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi.
On June 27, a CISF's duty personnel noticed an unattended pouch lying on the chair in arrival hall seating area at airport terminal 1C. He asked the nearby passenger but no one came forward to collect the pouch.
He immediately informed the matter to the CCTV observer to review the CCTV footage and cordon the area from security point of view. After ascertaining that there was no dangerous or hazardous item inside the pouch, it was opened. On opening the pouch, cash INR 68000/-, one yellow colour metallic bangle, some cards and one arrival boarding pass from Guwahati to Delhi of IndiGo Airlines flight in the name of Mukesh Bardia were found. On reviewing the CCTV footage, it came to light that an arrival passenger had placed that pouch and forgot to collect the same while exiting from terminal building. "Contact detail of Bardia was obtained from the concerned airline. Accordingly, he was contacted and informed about the pouch. The pouch along-with cash and valuables deposited with the Airport Manager which was returned to the said passenger after verification", the CISF release said here on Thursday.
