Tamil Nadu’s Hosur airport stuck in Kempegowda International Airport clause

Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) authorities’ refusal to grant a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) for the Hosur airport to become operational might have hampered the Tamil Nadu government’s plan to get its UDAN project sooner.
However, a number of flights to various Tamil Nadu airports have commenced in the last few months from KIA and a couple more are lined up to start operations soon.
In February, AirAsia India started flight services between Bengaluru and Chennai. The airline had resumed services after a gap of about two years and is operating three flights on the Bengaluru-Chennai route.
Similarly, Indigo has also started flight services from Bengaluru to Tiruchirappalli.
The Salem airport which started operating flights under the UDAN scheme a couple of months ago has a flight service from Bengaluru.
