Bengaluru: Vistara and Jet Airways and are the two airlines that have maintained a record of being the most punctual in June among all scheduled domestic airlines while operating from Bengaluru airport, the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has revealed. GoAir, however, had the worst record among the six airlines on the punctuality factor from the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA).
These aspects were highlighted in DGCA’s June 2018 report on ‘Performance of Domestic Airlines’ made public recently. Air India, Jet Airways (and Jetlite) Vistara, GoAir, SpiceJet and IndiGo were compared for their ‘on-time performance’ in the airports of New Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Bengaluru.
The main reason for the delays (64%) are ‘reactionary’, the report states. Reactionary or ‘knock-on’ delays refer to previous late arrivals or departures, it is learnt.
