Agartala: Over 200kg cannabis was recovered from 22 packets of pineapple exported from Tripura on Sunday.
The neatly-packed cannabis packets were recovered from inside pineapple consignments at Agartala Airport while they were en route to Dubai, police officials said.
Assistant inspector-general of police Smriti Ranjan Das told The Telegraph that 22 large packets of kew variety pineapples were ready to be loaded as air cargo on an IndiGo aircraft yesterday, which was travelling to Calcutta. A security check of the cargo revealed hidden packets inside the load of pineapples.
