Ghatkopar plane crash: DGCA probing if charter firm's permit can be scrapped

A question mark hangs over the future of Mumbai-based U Y Aviation Pvt Ltd, the charter firm whose King Air C-90 aircraft crashed in Ghatkopar on Thursday, killing all four on board and a pedestrian. Directorate-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is probing if this firm meets requirements to retain its non-schedule operator permit (NSOP or charter licence) or it should be cancelled.
The aviation regulator has also ordered an in-depth audit of Indamer, a maintenance, repair and overhaul firm for business jets that had repaired the plane. "Our team is in Mumbai and we have told it to expedite two things: If U Y Aviation meets requirements of a NSOP and a detailed examination of Indamer.
