No need to acquire land for new airport terminal: Collector

Trichy: District collector K Rajamani has allayed residents’ fears that they will have to part with their land for the new terminal building proposed to be built at the Trichy international airport. “The new building will come up within the premises of the airport and there is no need for acquiring land,” he clarified at the public hearing organised by district revenue officials here on Wednesday.
He also said that the construction would commence by October if all went well and the project would be completed by 2021. Rajamani chaired the public hearing which was aimed at elaborating on the proposed stateof-the-art two-level integrated terminal to come up at a cost of Rs897 crore. More than 200 residents from Sathanur, Kottapattu and Thiruverumber took part in the meeting and aired their concerns.
