Parrikar likely to head Mopa development authority Panaji: The cabinet on Friday evening approved a draft of the Goa (Mopa Airport Development Authority) Bill, for the creation of a new development authority for the proposed greenfield airport at Mopa, in Pernem taluka. Chief minister Manohar Parrikar may be the chairman.
As per a concession agreement signed by the state government with GMR Goa International Airport (the concessionaire), the latter was required to implement the project in a phased manner, with the first phase scheduled to be completed within three years. An authority as a single-window mechanism was considered necessary for development of the project.
