Protest intensifies over AAI decision to cut 700 trees

Jaipur: Environmentalists, residents and social organisations have intensified their protest against the proposal by Airport Authority of India (AAI), Jaipur to cut down around 700 trees in a residential colony to make parking space for airport shuttle buses.
Hundreds of protesters including school children on Tuesday reached the spot to protest against the decision and present memorandum to the Airport
director, Jaipur International Airport.
Protesters claimed, trees which will be axed are fully grown and more than seven-decades old. Joy Gardner, president of Hope And Beyond, a citybased
