10 new flights to operate from Shirdi Airport by October-end

Pune: Around 10 new flights are expected to take off from the Shirdi Airport, Maharashtra Airport Development Company Limited (MADC) officials said.
C S Gupta, executive director (technical) of MADC, which is managing the airport, said, “As many as 10 airlines have proposed to start flight operations to different destinations from Shirdi airport. The airlines will do a further assessment before things are finalised. The proposed flights include a Jet Airways flight from Delhi for which the airline has proposed to fly a Boeing,” Gupta told TOI.
Currently, Alliance Air, a subsidiary of Air India, operates two flights — one to Hyderabad and another to Mumbai, from Shirdi.
