Air Deccan bars passenger from boarding, though she was on time

A Kondhwa resident, missed her Pune-Nashik Air Deccan flight, on Friday, despite arriving one hour ahead of the rescheduled take-off time. The passenger, Shruti Shah has taken to Twitter, about the rude behaviour of the airline’s ground staff and also the nonchalance of its customer care to her complaint.
A web-designer by profession, Shah was headed to Nashik for an official meeting on Saturday. However, when she arrived at the airport at 6.55 pm, for her flight at 7.55 pm, she found the Air Deccan check-in counter unmanned, sending her into a tizzy hunting for their staffers. When she found one after a few minutes, the lady bluntly asked her to return home as the gates had shut at 6.45 pm.
This caught Shah off-guard as though her flight was originally scheduled to depart at 7.05 pm, it had been rescheduled to 7.55 pm “due to unavoidable circumstances” and the passengers were given a heads-up on it, accordingly. “It was a traumatic experience for me as not only was I not allowed to board the flight, the ground staff spoke to me in a harsh tone. They offered no help, except to ask me to book on the flight next day. I have written to both MakeMyTrip, the portal I used to book my ticket, and also Air Deccan. But the airline has chosen to ignore the episode. Their customer service only parroted that they were helpless as the passenger is required to check-in one hour ahead of take-off,” Shah told Mirror.
