Air India to pay client for delayed take-off

Chandigah:  Delay in take-off, caused by a technical snag, which led to a Sector 25 resident and his family missing their train from Delhi to Chandigarh will cost Air India Rs 9,500, including 3,500 paid for the taxi.
The complainant, Keshav Malhotra, a resident of Sector 25, Chandigarh said he booked three air tickets of Air India for himself, his wife and his son from New Delhi to Bagdogra on June 24, 2017 and the return journey from Bagdogra to New Delhi on July 1, 2017. For return from Delhi to Chandigarh, he said he booked Shatabdi Express tickets for 7:15pm.
However, it was stated that the plane in which he and his family members had to return from Bagdogra to New Delhi departed from Bagdogra at 4.15pm instead of 1.50pm and reached New Delhi at 6.30pm and by the time he got his luggage, it was 6.45pm. Therefore, he said he could not make it to New Delhi railway station in time to board the train. Left with no option, he had to book a taxi from New Delhi to Chandigarh for Rs 3,500.
