Bengaluru, Delhi airports in world's top 10 fastest growing airports

New Delhi: Two Indian airports have been ranked in the top 10 list of the world's fastest growing airport in the world during January to June this year, with one of them securing the second spot, shows a recent study. While Bengaluru airport made second place, Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport came in at the sixth spot.

According to Routesonline, global airlines events organiser, Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport has recorded 1,58,50,352 passengers in the first half (H1) of 2018, an increase of 41,80,852 passengers against the same period last year. And, Delhi has flown 3,49,05,629 passengers in H1 (January-June) 2018, adding 32,76,183 passengers from H1 2017. The figures are based on the actual passenger growth.

The survey ranked Tokyo's Haneda Airport at the top position with 4,32,88,558 passengers in H1 2018. Haneda International added more than 4.3 million passengers from January to June, compared with a year ago.
