Trivandrum airport managed 480 addl flights in eight days

Thiruvananthapuram: Trivandrum International Airport handled a total of 480 additional flights till Wednesday after the closure of the Cochin International Airport on August 15. As many as 146 rescue and relief flights were also operated from the airport. The airport managed around 30,000 additional passengers during these days, including Haj pilgrims.
As many as 334 flight services, which were supposed to be operated from Kochi, were handled in Thiruvananthapuram.
The highest number of additional flights, 80, was managed on Wednesday, including 30 domestic flights and 50 international flights.
On Thursday too, the airport will be operating 77 more additional flights.
The flights, which were supposed to be operated from Cochin Airport, are given time slots from 10am to 4pm and 6pm to 10pm.
