Finally, hugely disliked carpets to be removed from Delhi airport's terminal 3

New Delhi: The much-hated carpet at Delhi airport’s terminal 3 will finally go! While passengers have for years complained that pulling their trolley bags or baggage trolleys over the carpet has been very difficult, it took one tweet from junior aviation minister Jayant Sinha to get the airport operator to agree to remove the same.

The Delhi International Airport Pvt Ltd (DIAL) will now start removing carpets from terminal 3, both domestic and international sides, in phases and just have hard flooring there and pulling trolleybags and trolleys will be a smooth affair. The airport operator says it will enhance passenger experience at T3 with this move. At IGI airport, only T3 had carpets. T1 and T2 had been spared this pet peeve of flyers. T3 has carpets right from the time it opened in 2010.

A passenger, Suyash Gupta tweeted from his handle @suyashgupta on August 18, tagging Delhi International Airport Pvt Ltd (DIAL) and Jayant Sinha in the same.
