Hema Malini demands airport in Mathura

Agra:  BJP MP from Mathura Hema Malini, has written a letter to civil aviation minister, Suresh Prabhu urging him to build an airport in Mathura after the proposed Jewar airport in Noida appears to have hit land acquisition hurdles from the residents of Gautam Budh Nagar district.
In a letter, she has stated that Mathura is a world famous religious site, where tourists from across the world visit and the closest airport is in Delhi. She has stated that an airport in Mathura can be a viable alternative to the proposed Jewar airport.
"Earlier, we had urged to build an airport in Maant or Baldeo area of Mathura from the then civil aviation minister, but the demand was not fulfilled. Now I am writing a letter in this regard in the interest of the public after considering the present circumstances ,” letter reads.
