Indore: City airport to be developed with Rs 100 crore in 2 years

Indore: The state government has allotted 20.48 acre of land for further development of city airport. The airport administration has expressed resolve to complete the development with Rs 100 crore in next two years. The airport administration had been demanding 28 acres of land for airport’s further development for last 10 years. The hurdle ended when the state government won the title of the land in Supreme Court from Usha Raje Trust.

Thereafter, Indore MP and Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan asked district administration and state government to expedite the process of transfer of land to Airport Authority of India (AAI). Arun Pandey, state revenue department principal secretary and Sanjay Dubey, state labour department principal secretary handed over the land award letter to city airport director Aryama Sanyal in Bhopal on Tuesday. The state government has asked Airport Authority of India to deposit Rs 26 crore for the land and premium amount.
