Irked by airport security, flyer in Jaipur makes hoax bomb claim

Jaipur: A Delhi-bound flight from Jaipur got delayed by 30 minutes on Sunday when a passenger created a bomb scare at terminal-II of Jaipur airport. Since he created scenes and refused to cooperate during the security check, he was handed over to the police and was arrested for disturbing peace.
According to airport authorities, 40-year-old Jai Prakash Chaudhary had booked a flight to Delhi with IndiGo airlines that was scheduled to depart at 10.40 am on Sunday. As Independence Day is around the corner, there was heavy security check up at the Jaipur airport. “Chaudhary got miffed during his security check and created ruckus. He started screaming and was heard saying ‘mere bag main bomb hai’. This created an alarm and he was properly checked. Soon after, he was handed over to the police,” said Jaideep Singh Balhara, director, Airport Authority of India (AAI), Jaipur.
Due to the heavy security drill, the officials were taking extra time in checking passengers’ handbags and other items. “The IndiGo flight 6E 203 departed with a delay of 30 minutes to Delhi,” said a senior officer of the air traffic control.
Hanuman Prasad, Additional SP (Jaipur east), said, “The man was initially detained but later arrested for disturbing peace. He was going to Delhi from Jaipur and during the security check he had a verbal spat with the CISF men at the airport. May be he was late for the security check and was asking them to do their work fast.”
