Bhopal: T he good news pours in for Bhopal airport. The Jet Airways unit in Bhopal has written up the chain of command to start flights in the day to Delhi and Chennai. Only a day ago, reports came of Indigo planning to starts ops in Bhopal by year-end.
There is no flight at Raja Bhoj airport between 8.30am and 5.30am. It's a window that airlines can use, especially when fliers have started approaching airlines with their demands to start operations on certain routes.
A senior official of Jet Airways, asking not to be named, confirmed to TOI about the letter to start operations to Delhi and Chennai. "The entire day, there is no flight from Raja Bhoj airport. We can use it to start operations to new destinations. We have urged our higher authorities to consider our request," said the official, adding that an important meeting is scheduled with state government officials and Bhopal airport authorities in this regard. "I can't tell you much now, but the meeting is to be held soon. We are hoping that some good will come out of it," said the official.
