Kempegowda International Airport is world's second fastest growing airport.

New Delhi: The Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), Bengaluru has been ranked as the second fastest growing among top 20 major airports in the world during the first half of 2018. The airport recorded 1,58,50,352 passenger transit from the month of January to June this year, reported the Deccan Herald. It is next to Tokyo's Haneda Airport which is the world's fastest growing airport. Since the IT industry is currently showing a turnaround, analysts believe this causing more passengers to come to India resulting in KIA to be at the second spot on the list. The airport is owned and operated by Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL). The Government of India has granted BIAL the right to operate the airport for 30 years.
