Shamshabad airport now gives 40% GSDP to Telangana, says CM

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu said the greenfield airport at Shamshabad, mooted during his rule in united AP, is now giving 40% GSDP to Telangana. Naidu on Monday rang the bell at Sir Dinshaw Petit international convention hall of Bombay Stock Exchange in Mumbai to mark the listing of Amaravati bonds.

Interacting with investors during the occasion, he relied on the work he had done for Hyderabad, and said he will do the same to develop Amaravati as one in the best five capital cities in the country.

Naidu said that when he had mooted a greenfield international airport, there was no global connectivity, and that he had convinced the then Prime Minister about the key project, as a result of which the ‘open sky’ policy was formulated.
