Chennai: Heightened security arrangements have been put in place across Tamil Nadu and visitors to Chennai Airport has been banned in view of the 71st Independence Day to be celebrated on Wednesday.
Airport sources said following instructions from the Centre, a seven-tier security arrangement was put in place at the airport. Passengers with valid tickets were alone allowed entry after their baggages
were thoroughly frisked.
