Woman dies in Jaipur after heart attack on flight

Jaipur: A flight from Delhi to Hyderabad, carrying 139 passengers, was diverted to Jaipur airport, following a medical emergency on Wednesday evening, when a 60-year-old woman travelling along with two of her relatives, complained of breathing trouble. The woman later succumbed in the hospital.

The flight captain intimated the air traffic control, Jaipur, and the flight landed in Jaipur where doctors and ambulance were kept ready for the ailing woman. She was rushed to a private hospital where she died of a heart attack.

According to the airport authorities, the Indigo flight 6E 967 from Delhi to Hyderabad had an emergency landing at 5.15 pm at Jaipur’s terminal 2 airport. “The lady complained of problems in respiration. Our air traffic control coordinated for the timely and safe landing. We had also kept an ambulance and a doctor ready, and she was rushed to Fortis hospital in the ambulance. Unfortunately she died during her check-up,” said Jaideep Singh Balhara, director, Airport Authority of India (AAI), Jaipur. The doctor at the airport examined the patient and advised the team to rush her to Fortis hospital
