Andhra Pradesh plans five air force enclaves

Amaravati: The State government is planning to develop five air force enclaves in the state, said chief minister Chandrababu Naidu.
Speaking to a delegation led by B Suresh, in-charge of Southern air command, Trivandrum, at assembly premises here on Tuesday, Chandrababu Naidu proposed Donakonda, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Bhogapuram and Nellore to be developed as the special air force enclaves.
The Air force delegation requested the chief minister for allotment of required land at the respective airports. They expressed interest to expand the Suryalanka airbase which is now in 1350 acres and requested the Chief Minister to give more land.
In Donakonda the officials sought 800 acres of land followed by 25 acres for Vijayawada, 10 acres for Bhogapuram and at 55 acres for Nellore airport to develop air force stations.
