Flyers fume over 3-hour delay of flight to Delhi

Pune: A SpiceJet flight to Delhi was delayed over three hours on Wednesday, leaving many flyers fuming.
The flight (SG8937) scheduled departure of the flight from the city was 7.20am. It finally took off around 10.40am.

A SpiceJet spokesperson told TOI that the delay was because of the late arrival of the incoming flight. “SpiceJet’s Pune-Delhi flight SG 8937 was delayed by three hours today (Wednesday). The delay was caused due to the late arrival of the incoming flight. By the time this incoming flight arrived and could turn around, the runway restrictions at Pune airport had set in, which led to the flight being further held up,” he said.

One of the passengers, Vidyadhar, wrote on Twitter, “Flight SG 8937, Pune to Delhi, delayed by 03.30 hours. Do u have any idea how you mess up plans of travellers? Will think twice before booking your flights.”

The airline responded to him that the delay was because of the runway closure at the Pune airport. But the flyer was not at all convinced.
