Ahmedabad airport fails in terms of aesthetics

Ahmedabad: Earlier this year when the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport was adjudged the best in the country in the category of big cities, a lot of congratulatory messages poured in for the authorities. However, that excitement has failed to resonate among Amdavadis, especially experts in the fields of art, urban planning and design as well as frequent fliers.
Their major grouse is that our airport fails miserably in terms of aesthetics, which is ironical, considering that it has at its disposal a pool of talent in the form of students and experts from some of the finest institutes of the country. Even the World Heritage City status of the city has not found adequate representation, they feel.
