Air Traffic Controllers Day celebrated at airport

Indore: Air Traffic Controllers Day was celebrated at Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport on Saturday with pomp and show.  A small get together of pilots, staff from airlines and Airport Authority of India (AAI), Head of the Departments (HODs) of different sections and officers and staff of Air Traffic Centre (ATC) was organised to celebrate Air Traffic Controllers Day. APD Sanyal cut the cake and addressed the gathering. She said that ATC was vital for an airport.

A message of Chairman of AAI Guruprashad Mohapatra was read out. It was followed by a discussion on role of ATC.  The day is observed to celebrate men and women who tirelessly work 24X7 and make air travel safest mode of transport.Sanyal said that ATCs have an incredible amount of responsibility and hence need to constantly hone their professional skills and competence.  AAI is proud of unflinching commitment of the guardians of the skies.
