Four arrested for duping Bhandup man with false job promise

Mumbai: The Mumbai Police arrested four men from Delhi for allegedly cheating several people by making false promises of offering them jobs in the “Air Indigo” airlines and taking money from them under various pretexts.
Rahul Subroto (29), a Bhandup resident, received a call from a man claiming to be a representative of ‘Dreams Job Solutions’ and offered him a job with “Air Indigo” airlines. After Subroto expressed interest, the caller began communicating with him and under various pretexts took a payment of around Rs 5 lakh from him. Over the next few months, when Subroto did not receive the promised job, he realised that he had been cheated and approached the local Bhandup police An FIR on charges of cheating was registered against unidentified accused.
During the course of investigation by the Bhandup police, it came to light that the account where the money had been transferred by Subroto was in the name of one Parveen Rajput (31), a Navi Mumbai resident. It was further revealed that her bank account was actually being used by her friend Furqan Rizvi (27) and Manish Mehra (27) who were running the scam. Based on information that the accused operated from Delhi, a police team left for there and placed the duo under arrest. During their interrogation, police found out about the two other accused — Anil Laxman alias Lallan Pandey (32) and Ranjitkumar Ranjan.
