IndiGo Airlines is all set to make connectivity to south Indian cities even more convenient by adding two new flights from Nagpur to cities like Cochin and Chennai. Bookings to the two new destinations have already started at the travel agents offices. The air ticket bookings are getting a good response from the tourists, said sources in the industry on condition of anonymity.
The flight from Nagpur-Chennai will start from November 1 whereas the direct flight from Nagpur to Cochin will start from November 15. The air ticket prices are being quoted at Rs 4,000 to Rs 4,500 per ticket to both destinations depending on the availability with the airline.
With this, Nagpur will now get connected to major south Indian cities like Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Cochin and Chennai.
Sources said that there are a large number of people residing in Nagpur from states like Kerala and Andhra Pradesh who wanted to travel to south India and demanded that flights be immediately started to places like Cochin and Chennai. With the start of the Diwali festive season, there has been a rise in demand for air tickets to both domestic and international destinations by 10 to 15 per cent, said sources.
