Jet to start direct Pune-Singapore flight from December 1

Pune: Airport authorities here on Thursday said Jet Airways will start a direct international flight to Singapore from December 1.
"Pune is getting a new direct international flight from December 1 to Singapore by Jet Airways," the post on the Twitter handle of the Pune airport read.

Airport officials said the flight will leave Pune at 0515 hours and reach Singapore at 1315 hours. Similarly, the flight from Singapore will leave at 2100 hours and reach Pune at 0005 hours. "It will be going with full load and will be a direct flight," Pune airport director Ajay Kumar said.

"People will not have to fly to Mumbai to get connected to the South East Asia. A person willing to visit Thailand or Malaysia can do it easily from Pune now, as they can go directly to Singapore and then get connected to the other South East Asian countries. Besides, Singapore is one of the most popular destinations for tourists from Pune," he said.

Since long, the airport here has just four flights to international destinations - two to Dubai (Air India and SpiceJet), one to Abu Dhabi (Jet Airways) and another to Frankfurt (Lufthansa).
